The cities of Alpine and Highland are both about 5 miles away from American Fork Hospital. Both have amazing neighborhoods in all price ranges. They are both minutes away from the Alpine Scenic Highway which takes you through American Fork Canyon. This canyon continues through the mountains and connects to the other side of Sundance. During the fall it is one of the most beautiful drives in Utah County.
People move to Alpine, Utah for the large comfortable homes in a rural setting, with friendly neighbors and a small town feel.
Highland, Utah is a family friendly community with wide open spaces, great architecture, orchards and gorgeous mountain views.
There are some hidden neighborhoods in both communities, amazing views of the mountains and lake, and overall large lots and a country feel. Lone Peak High School, which is in Alpine, is rated one of the best high schools in the state of Utah and is also known for its fantastic sports programs. The award winning Blue Lemon restaurant in located in Highland and is one of my favorite places to dine in Utah County, and another favorite is Thai Village in American Fork.
Alpine and Highland are centrally located and may be in the best part of Utah County because you are 30 minutes to Provo and 30 minutes to Salt Lake City. Many friends who are doctors choose to live there for the flexibility of being able to work at BOTH Salt Lake and Utah County Hospitals.
